i can’t in good faith insult you. i honestly believe that you may have a serious learning challenge. 

white privilege is when white people think they are the majority, and they think they deserve everything, from being accepted as the “norm” (Example: I wish you stop calling me White. We’re all human.) to not listening to why as viewpoints such as the Original Poster is a problem. They take no responsibility in learning why most PoCs do not like White people while ignoring the fact that (mostly) White People built some of the stuff they enjoy… without acknowledging that they are able to built such stuff because they have access to that type of education.

Then White people will be like “But the Internet is free! You can learn on your own!” but yet complains when they don’t understand basic concepts… like how Tumblr is NOT REALLY FREE!

I also do not approve of whites wearing the garb of non-white cultures, because to me it signifies an acceptance of multiculturalism which I am against. It’s not like Germany colonized a lot of Africa, no way Germans are all white people yep. About 7 days ago, someone replied to a blog entry I just reblogged with no commentary of my own. It went unnoticed because… well, I forgot to look at the Disqus comments here. (It’s easier on a Wordpress blog and hardly gets used.).

Anyway, the original comment can be seen here. I will be posting the original commentary here, but along with my rebuttals…

The reason that blacks are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system is because blacks commit a disproportionate number of crimes relative to their population. Over half of homicides in the US are committed by blacks.

Lemme stop you there. Actually, let me not stop you… this is true. According to the Homicide Trends in the United States, 1980-2008, Black people do account for a little over half. Interesting to note that we’re only 12.9% of the population.

In the same report, 45.3% are committed by Whites, and they are 82.9%, thus making the numbers work in their favor. While mathematically, a White offender will kill only 4.5 of the times per 100K, a Black offender will kill 34.4 of the times per that same number.

By the way, the number doesn’t include… death by cops. So *doing Jon Stewart’s voice* It’s a give and take.

Hispanics are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system because hispanics are disproportionately poor, young, and male, the group that commits the most crimes. If you compensate for that their crime rate is comparable to that of native whites.

I am lousy with numbers, even thought I study computers… which requires numbers. But what’s a “native White”? We’ll assume you mean people who lucked out and were born here.

Standardized testing is not biased against blacks and hispanics. Standardized testing is a means of measuring your academic ability and intelligence. It is hardly surprising that less well educated people, with less well-educated parents, in poor surroundings do considerably worse academically than those whose parents are educated, better off, in wealthier surroundings. Intelligence is both environmental and genetic in nature, and people with stupid parents in a poor environment are losing out in both categories.

We’re forgetting that standardized testing assumes that everyone gets the same level of education. Imagine a student in two places if you will, regardless of environment. But that’s not always the case. In some areas, the parents could be smarter than most, but can’t afford the education, so they have to deal with the default pitches of the government.

And then there are some parents willing to go out their way to put their child in a better school in a better place so that they can get a better quality of education.

Intelligence maybe both environmental and genetic in nature, but that’s not always the case. While what you said could increased the chances of them turning into uneducated people is low. Some people can learn “all they can” and still don’t know enough to pass a standard test because the school system purposely limited them.

The idea that poverty is something rich people invented to oppress poor people is ridiculous. Poverty is the natural human condition; it is civilization that lifts us out of poverty, rather than pushes people down into it. Hunter/gatherers are incredibly poor. The way you get out of poverty is doing work that others are willing to compensate you well enough for.

Hunters/gathers are poor by your civilized standards, but that’s not to say they they are poor. Some people are not interested in money, but the things that money can get.

Poverty is NOT a natural human condition. In order for poverty to exist, a system must be created. I don’t think any one is willing to work so much and get something so little in return.

As for political oppression, it is largely that the Republicans just want to fight the Democrats any way that they can. Minorities tend to vote for the Democrats, and ergo get suppressed, but anyone who votes Democratic in a state where the Republicans have power will be suppressed, regardless of race or ethnicity, because their goal is political power.

Yes, political power. Forget about the people that puts them there to start with…

Additionally, the idea that oppression is primarily visual may have been true in the past, but I suspect that today, it is actually primarily audio in nature, and has very little to do with skin color but rather ethnicity - people look down upon those with rural accents, Ebonics-type accents, Spanish and Portuguese accents, Indian accents, and Chinese accents, as these are all associated with people who are poor. People with European accents tend to be better regarded, as do those from other English-speaking countries. A lot of discrimination in the US today is based on ethnic origin rather than race per se, and while skin color may help single people out for added suspicion, if they sound “American” they’re far more likely to get a pass than if they sound foreign.

As much as I want to do a full rebuttal on this, I don’t. You just described how White people are superior in every way, shape and form. Especially on a “audio level”.

You also explained, within the same format, how outsourcing works to the advantage of American pockets while also disadvantaging them at the same bloody time.

It’s like you written that so beautifully, that I don’t need to rebuttal this part, because you just describe how low you are willing to go to prove that White Americans can be so smart, yet so dumb at the same freaking time.

OK, listen up. Here’ why we usually generalize “White People” when we discuss racism.

 Yes, obviously it’s only a number of White People who actively engage in doing the fucked up shit that most people recognize as racism. 

But then there are the ones who just stand there and watch….

And then there are the ones who stand there and cheer….

And then there are the ones who shake their head and say “someone should do something about that!” and then walk away….

And then there are the ones who cave into peer pressure and join in….

And then there are the ones pay lip service…but are still just standing there. 

And then there are the ones who get mad at you for being hurt….

And there are the ones who laugh at you for expressing your pain….

And the ones who blame you for being hurt in the first place….

And then there are the ones who punish you for trying to stop it….

At the end of the day, so many of you have become so complacent that we hold you just as accountable as the one primarily causing the harm, and rightfully so. 

If you’re a beneficiary, you’re a perpetrator, especially if you do nothing to change.

Whether you want to admit it or not.
